Rookie shines, but Blues fall to Hawks

St. Louis Blues rookie winger David Perron continued to make his case for a roster spot on Saturday.

Perron, a 19-year-old winger from Quebec, set up a pair of goals by Doug Weight in the Blues’ 4-3 preseason loss to the Chicago Blackhawks.

‘We know about his talent, and he looks like he wants to be here,’ Weight said.

The Blackhawks scored a pair of late short-handed goals to win it, including one by Adam Burish with 16.1 seconds remaining.

With a goal and two assists in four preseason games, Perron has been one of the most intriguing rookies in training camp. Read more
